Micro Preemie Tutorial

Gather your tools and kit

the kit I am using is Blakely by J. Stocks kit from Bloomers*n*Bows

1.      Neutralizing the pink in the vinyl: Mix Flesh tone base plus a tiny amount of green (the colour change should be barely noticeable) adding blending gel and a touch of matte varnish. Mix well and paint onto a wedge sponge, dab off excess paint of a damp cloth then pounce all over. Repeat 1-2 times or until pink is neutralized.

 

2.    Mixing baby blush undertone, matte varnish and blending gel with 10 to 12 drops of thinner paint onto damp kitchen sponge, dab off the excess, roll the kitchen sponger all over the kit.

 

3.     Veining: Mix veining tone and tinner to a watery consistency. Using a 5/0 liner brush paint fine squiggly veins.

 

4.    Blue Thin Skin: Using the left over vein mix add a touch of blue belly veil and a touch of nail bed blush & lip tint plus some blending gel. Working in small areas paint on to areas where the skin is naturally thinner (around the eyes nose mouth etc) pounce most of it off straight away then reapply until you are happy with the colour.

 

5.     Mix flesh tone base plus a touch of purple (colour should barely change) with blending gel and thinner. Paint onto a kitchen sponge blot off excess and roll the sponge all over the kit.

 

6.    Mix nail bed blush & lip tint with a touch of blue belly veil and a touch of blush undertone to make a plumy colour, thin the mixed colour paint directly on to the kit and pounce off with a berry marker working in small areas and from the outside in.

 

7.    Use the colour left from step 6 to paint capillaries using a fine brush. Paint onto a tip of a pointed sponge and wipe over the lip area. Repeat the lip colouring several times until you are happy with the colour.

 

8.    Creases: Mix a touch of eye area undertone to nail bed blush & lip tint paint into crease.

 

9.    Mix rosy cheeks blush matte varnish , blending gel and nail bed blush & lip tint, thin and use for nail beds

 

10. Mix blush undertone and a tiny amount of deep ethnic accent to a watery consistency brush onto a kitchen sponge blot off excess and roll all over

 

11.  Mix flesh highlight with a small amount of thinner using a 5/0 brush paint the nail tips
