This is a mini tutorial on how to hold and use your german fork needles size 42g and 43g.
it is important to hold your needle in the right direction otherwise you will not get any hairs inserted or if you manage to insert a hair it will fall out again.
when I say "tail" i mean the little L shaped part on uncut needles
I use a "standard type" needle holder from Vynettes Bassinette
If you are using a different needle holder for the 42g german needle the "tail" of the needle should run in the same direction as the mohair
If you are using a different needle holder with the 43g german needle the "tail" of the needle should run at a 90 degree angle to the mohair direction
to root sparsely there really is no secert to it, it is about self control mainly. You need to space out the hair so it is not close together and you need to resist the urge to fill in the "gaps" as its the gaps that help to give the sparsely rooted effect. I find it helps to seperate one hair at a time and then insert it.
to root a thick head of hair I still seperate and insert one hair at a time but much closer together filling in the gaps.
Using a 42g needle if you don't seperate the hair you will still end up with plugs so it is always helpful to keep a pair of tweezers handy incase you need to pull out some hairs.
rooting using the german fork needles can take along time it takes me between 70 anf 100 hours on average but I do believe the end results are well worth the time it takes.
If these don't make any sense please let me know and I will try to reword them or if you have any questions just ask.
